A tough start to the season weather wise in Terre Haute Indiana for our first tournament of the 2023 season at Idle Creek Golf Course. Friday the 17th was our opening round where the temp was 37* with a sustained 25mph wind throughout the day. My ball striking wasn’t too far off on this day. I just had a few opportunities where I could have improved. On Friday I had 3 3-Putts, 1 double (No penalty) and 1 penalty. The positive on the day was I did lead the field on birdies. Day 2, Saturday the 18th, the weather improved as well as the scores. I finished the day with a 75 but still had a 3 3-putts, a penalty, and a double. I again led the field in birdies with my teammate. Usually, my 100 yard and in game is strong but this was the biggest opportunity for improvement for this tournament. Coming in 6th overall with all the opportunities I have to improve on with things I usually excel at, is something to build on for this season. The team finished first overall which is always the goal!
